Vadim Repin: 'The violin is a living organism'

Although still relatively young, Vadim Repin (Novosibirsk, Siberia 1971) would not be easy to imitate, either superficially or even less so, artistically. When you converse with him, he is controlled, modest, and soft spoken but along with Gidon Kremer and Maxim Vengerov, he is one of the most highly praised and sought after violinists of Russian origin of our day. Residing now in Switzerland with his wife, he has Belgian nationality and a long standing relationship with Belgium stemming from the time he won the prestigious Concours Reine Élisabeth in 1989 at the age of 17.
