Violinist Roberto González-Monjas, principal conductor of the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg since 2024, has an almost Socratic approach to music. Following the advice of pianist Ferenc Rados, he always asks himself about the why and the meaning of things when he plays, which helps him to think originally and avoid preconceived ideas or traditions that are repeated without question.

Highly sought after in both roles, whether leading musical ensembles or performing as a soloist, González-Monjas is rapidly making his mark on the international scene. His compelling artistic vision, remarkable charisma, boundless energy and enthusiasm, and keen musical intellect have enabled him to forge a solid reputation as a conductor par excellence.
